Short battery life after app update to 3.39, 3.39.1

I recently updated my Versa 2 with the latest software upgrade and now by battery won’t last 8 hours before it dies. I charged it to 100% at 1pm and by the 7pm it was dead. Any ideas on what I should do?

  • When I first got my Fitbit for Christmas it held charge for 5 days as advertised but all of a sudden almost overnight it now needs charging every 2 days!

What apps are you using? Do you have SpO2 measurements when you sleep? This is an absolute power hog and it drains 10-15% of battery life every evening.

No I haven’t downloaded anything extra to the watch I sleep using sleep
mode. I don’t use it for alarms or even music. I just log my 20 minute HiiT
workouts on. Literally that’s it!

Hi there @Elsaharris, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 2.

As @wtksk8r has mentioned, as with other electronic devices, the battery will depend on the features and how often they're used, such as the GPS, Spotify app or the Always-On display. While this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, please take into consideration the conditions that impact your watch's battery.

That being said, I'd recommend to change the clock face to one designed by Fitbit and please confirm if you've followed the tips and recommendations to maximize your watch's battery life described here.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

But none of this applies to me
I don’t use the watch for any apps or music (pity really that I don’t feel
I can) and I have not changed anything on the watch that didn’t come from
the factory setting

Charged to 100% in the morning, 4 hours later it’s down to 55%. I’ve only had it for 7 months! Seems a waste to not even last a whole year.

Hi there @Chill24, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 2.

As you may know, your Versa 2 battery should last up to 6 days. However, as with other electronic devices, the battery will depend on the features and how often they're used, such as the GPS, Spotify app or the Always-On display. While this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, please take into consideration the conditions that impact your watch's battery.

That being said, I'd recommend to change the clock face to one designed by Fitbit and please confirm if you've followed the tips and recommendations to maximize your watch's battery life described here.

By the way, I've moved your post to Other Versa Smartwatches board for organization purposes.

Hope that helps.

I have the exactly same experience with Inspire 2. It started a fee days ago. Battery draining super fast. With 100% change it would only last 12-16h. I bout this inspire 2 Jan 2021. So it is only 3month use up to now. In the beginning I only charged the Fitbit once a week, and it worked perfectly. Didn’t change anything in the middle, but just Battery draining started a few days ago.

I have tried all of the battery saving methods. I don’t use the GPS or additional features on the watch. I’ve tried logging in and out of the Fitbit app and changing the clock face, still no luck.

Same! They best sort it soon I hope this is so disappointing, it’s like apple they make a product then do a software update to make the products run crap to make you buy a new one

My Fitbit Inspire (not quite a year old) has suddenly started to lose its charge.  Previously I would get several days from the battery however recently I’m lucky if I get 36 hours now. I’ve also noticed that it takes longer than usual to sync with the app so wondered if there was any connection?

Has yours fixed itself yet? Mine is still not lasting!

My battery is lasting a little better now it’s gone from needing to be charged every 7/8 hours to lasting a day but still isn’t good enough compared to what is usually expected from my inspire

If i wanted it to last one day I would of got an Apple Watch and i can’t stand them lol so hopefully it continues to improve
