Since I installed the 2.41 update, my steps have been jumping up and down mysteriously when I sync. Here is what I saw in the last half hour. All syncs were down sitting down holding my One in my hand to compare the count before and after syncing without moving the One. In every case, the number on the One changed, up or down, without my moving it in any way, changing to match the number on the app.
One says 11048, after syncing it changes to 11047
One says 11125, after syncing it changes to 11147
One says 11209, after syncing it changes to 11254
One says 11406, after syncing it changes to 11401
One says 11453, after syncing it changes to 11430
There doesn't seem to be a pattern, sometimes it drops and sometimes it goes up. But it is very frustrating and I do feel as if I am being robbed of legitimate steps.

Hello @SunsetRunner, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community.
This seems like a very odd situation, do you have MobileTrack enabled in your app or do you have other Fitbit tracker linked to your account? If so, it's possible the app is trying to sync both trackers at the same time and that might be affecting the step count in your Fitbit One. If you have a Flex or a Flex 2 my recommendation would be syncing your Flex/Flex 2 to the app first making sure your other tracker is not around. Then sync your other tracker making sure the Flex/Flex2 is not around as it might affect the step count again.
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Thank you for your response @MarcoGFitbit. I don't have MobileTrack, because my phone is an iPhone8 and you don't support it. I do have a Flex 2, but I hadn't used it, and it was at the far end of the house out of bluetooth range when this was happening.
I tried syncing with them both together too, and the behavior is exactly the same when they're both within range or only one. I do think the issue is the app update, since this hadn't happened previously, which is why I reported it in this forum rather than in the One forum.
By the way, the only reason I have a Flex 2 is to have the 250 steps per hour module on the app and in my dashboard. Since the One counts steps, it makes no sense to me that we can't have that module for the One--the count shows on the weekly email for One users, after all, but there is no way to see the module or make adjustments to the hours tracked without having a separate device connected. I don't care that the One doesn't give me alerts for steps per hour; I do want to be able to see when I reach the steps per hour on the app.

The problem seems to getting worse with the latest app update. This evening when I synced, I had 1000 fewer steps than before I synced, even though I'd been actively working out in the interim. With every single sync the step total jumps wildly either up or down, even when I'm sitting still and not moving at all. What's the point of having a step tracker when it is so erratic?
