Steps and related data not being saved after sync

I am able to sync my FitBit. Changes to my custom display made in my app immediately are available from my Fitbit after syncing.

However, my steps (and related data like distance, calories, etc.) aren’t being saved from the fitbit. For example, today I had 14,547 steps. I tried syncing, the steps weren’t copied over. I tried BlueTooth on/off, restarting my iPad, and restarting my fitbit. After restarting my fitbit, the steps appeared for today - but also for yesterday (when I had like 20k steps), the day before, the day before that, and every other day I browsed back to in the app.

I closed out of the app, reopened it, and the steps - from today and all previous days - were gone.

Apparently, the steps and related data haven’t been saving to the app since the end of July. I usually just run the sync and close out, so I didn’t notice until today.

Has anyone dealt with something similar and found a fix?

Preemptive answers: I only have 1 fitbit device. My phone is a dumbphone that has no apps or step tracking or anything like that. I sync on my iPad and have done for years without issue.

I've got the exact same issue.  Sounds like lots of people do too.  And Fitbit isn't acknowledging it.

I’ve been experiencing the exact same problem with my Fitbit  the past week. The Fitbit app has been going downhill for a while now and they don’t seem to want to address problems when they arise or make improvements to the app so I’ve decided to stop using my Fitbit device and I purchased an Amazfit activity tracker from Amazon, so much better than Fitbit I wish I’d made the switch long ago! They’re less expensive than Fitbit trackers, work better, and the app is so much better.

Same issue here. Today’s steps are showing, but always missing by tomorrow.

Also not syncing with wellness incentive tracker.

Looking at a few prior months, much of my step history is now missing or inaccurate.

this is my problem too . We need the old dashboard back where you could add stuff in

Yes, I thought it was just me and my Versa.  I have done a factory reset twice now thinking it was just my Fitbit, but seems like a wider issue.  It will sync at random times but will only include the current days progress, and after syncing has 0 steps for previous days.  Then once you close the app and reopen, everything is gone, like it never synced.

Many days have not synced the right steps even when I check it every night
to make sure it has the correct steps!!!! Some days it takes so long to
get it to record my steps! And then in the morning it is wrong again very
frustrating ! Ever since Google took over it has been a mess Why can’t they
just give us back the old dashboard and we can add and subtract so easily
from that!

Same issue here!  It’s been very aggravating. Started happening in late August to me. Anyone find a fix yet or heard from Fitbit about what to do??

I agree!! I have not had mine working since Google took over. I wish I never moved it. Takes forever to get it to sync just to disappear and not save. I’m lost without this app working!

Same issue here... I've had a One for like ten years; starting in late July it stopped saving the synced data.  (Like you, it shows me today's live data--so it is connecting...)  This might be the end of Fitbit for me--it's been a good run.

From what I’ve read, it’s not just Ones that are having problems. Hope not - I love mine too!! Just shows zeros since Aug 26th.

Updates do nothing. The synch issue still exists. This is happening for people buying new fitbits thinking that might resolve the issue.

This has gone on for way too long.

One thing that might help... I was able to download all my steps (and/or other data) to a spreadsheet/csv from the online Fitbit profile at https://www.fitbit.com/settings/data/legacy-export.  You can download up to a month at a time, and ALL my steps were accurate.  For those looking to manually track until the app gets updated, this should at least stop you from losing data.
