My Apple Watch app says I have 2500 steps and Fitbit is only reading 500

I think that it may only track the steps that the phone has, and not the watch.  If you click on the Health dashboard and go to All recorded data, and then the date, you'll see it minute by minute. And on the left, both Phone and Watch inputs.  For the total, the Health app counts only the greater of the 2.  But from what I can tell, Fitbit app only takes the phone one.  I assume it's to limit competition from other devices. ie: if you only have a  phone, we'll help you, but if you are going to buy a device, it as to be ours.  But I am not sure.

It's too bad. I'd pay for a Fitbit app, if I could use it on my watch....

I absolutely agree; I would pay for a fitbit app that will sync my apple watch progress with my fitbit app. I have used my fitbit flex almost everyday for several years, mostly utilizing the sleep tracking. I got the apple watch because of the ability to see snippets of emails/texts and quickly reply without having my phone on me, as well as the heart rate monitor. I know the charge HR has similar functions, but for $100 more I couldn't pass up the watch. I gave my beloved fitbit to my mom but I miss being able to join challenges and see the sleep tracking. I know that Apple watch doesn't track sleep (even if it did...I wouldn't be able to use it because I have to recharge it every single night) but I wish at least the step challenges could somehow link to the pedometer from the watch.

I have not had my fitbit flex for months but I still use the fitbit app everyday because I have MyFitnessPal linked to it along with my fitbit Aria scale synced to my account.

I track both together, one thing that you can do is use Sync Solver app and Pedometer++ and send the Pedometer++ data to Fitbit.

Jonathan,

Can you tell me exactly how you do this?   Which Sync Solver app do you use and how do you transfer the data from Pedometer++ to Fitbit?  Thanks

Use the blue Sync Solver app to send Pedometer++ to Fitbit.

Hi do you know which sync solver app I should go for? There are 2 blue ones though one is called sync helper?

I have an apple watch but family have fitbits so I can't compete properly - it doesn't take all my steps. I've downloaded pedometer++ but want to be sure that it will import all steps into fitbit

Good morning everyone! Fitbit does not currently have plans to integrate with HealthKit, but I would recommend up-voting and commenting on this feature request in order to express your demand for the integration.

Hi, is this a dead issue as far as the corporate leadership is concerned? I see 3d party data syncing as a plus for FB since it will generate revenue from both the 3d party companies and customers who will be able to sync more devices to FB.  Does this make sense or am I missing the big picture?

I, too, am very disappointed that fitbit doesn't integrage Apple Watch steps.  I have the larger iphone now, so don't always carry it when I walk.  My Activity Tracker logs all my steps regardless of whether they come from my watch or my phone.  Why can't  fitbit integrate the Health app?  When my sister (who owns a fitbit) does a challenge with me, I miss out on my true steps unless I make a concentrated effort to always have my phone in tow.  Grrrr!

Hi there @macfb46 and @iwebkat, welcome aboard to our Community. Note that the Applewatch is more a smartwatch which is a different focus of the Fitbit trackers, additionally to this when an integration occurred with the Fitbit products and features, most of the times the initiative is not developed by us, but by the 3rd party app who is interested to join information for the benefit of the users.

If you re interesting in sharing your feedback and support, I recommend to take a look at the suggestion mentioned before: Integrate with iOS Health. This is the best place to make your voice heard and our product team looks forward to reading and incorporating your suggestions into future versions of Fitbit trackers and apps.

Once again thank you for your feedback and hope to see you around.

Yes you can I guess you have to down load another app that cost money to
sync your watch app but it doesn’t sync with the Fitbit challenge..... so
you cant really join the challenges ...
