Too many steps. 160 steps recorded before getting out of bed. Fitbit Versa 4. It is ridiculous that so many steps are recorded before getting out of bed

Hi @8YL57P - try restarting the the watch and phone and syncing.
Also try turning off Bluetooth at night and checking steps on the watch in the morning. What this achieves is detecting if the watch is adding the steps or the app, so you will know where the fault is.
Step over counting of that magnitude is not normal unless you do something like sleep walking, or a boxing match in your sleep! Lol
Watches are normally accurate for measuring arm movements (steps) once the minimum threshold is passed (about 8 or so in one go, below that they are discarded) so don't rule out it is telling you something if it happens consistently.

Hello Guy Thank you for your reply to my weird steps recorded while still in bed. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to do your suggestions. I have a sick husband. This Versa 4 replaced a four-year-old one which didn't give me false steps. I don't sleepwalk or do boxing. Today I had 200 steps recorded while still in bed! I find it really weird that this new one is doing this. Occasionally the screen on this Versa 4 will not scroll. Is this a common problem? This didn't happen with my previous one.
Kind regards
