Strange Sync Issue?

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help me here!

I have an iPhone 6S and I noticed a few weeks back that my step syncing was playing up. I'd been part of The Work Week Hustle and though I was manually syncing and my steps showed for just me, it would show up as 0 steps in the challenge. A little while later I noticed my syncs were happening and then as soon as I closed the app and went back to it, it read as 0 steps, even though half an hour earlier it had synced to the Fitbit and registered my steps on the app!

After figuring this was some sort of glitch, I tried all sorts of things to fix the issue.

  • I've turned off bluetooth and turned it back on again.
  • I've turned off WiFi and made sure only bluetooth is on.
  • I've removed Fitbit from the bluetooth list and re-added it.
  • I've removed the Fitbit app and downloaded it again.
  • I've told my phone to forget the Fitbit.

Now, the issue I'm having is even weirder! I've removed my Fitbit from the app and now when I go to "set up new device" it acts up. It will find the Fitbit and show me four numbers to put into my phone and then from there it'll just get stuck searching, the same way it did when I tried to sync it to The Work Week Hustle.

I have no idea what's happening or how to fix it.

The issue is, that my mum also has a Fitbit and so I removed mine from my phone and then reset hers and tried to set up that on my phone, as I have a replacement plan with Argos so I was thinking I'd take it back and get a new one. The exact same issues happen with her Fitbit Charge HR!

I don't think it's my phone as it doesn't appear to have any issues syncing with other things. Fitbit is currently the only thing I have synced/am trying to sync, so it's not a case of having too many things synced at once.

Please, help! I'm baffled and very frustrated. Woman Sad

Hello @szecki welcome to the Fitbit Community! Challenges can be affected by the timezone of the members who are in it as well as any logged activities on your account, this includes MobileRun, manual logs and third party logging. Using any kind of manual logging when running or walking will not count towards your challenges.

Regarding your syncing issue please try to restart the tracker, @SunsetRunner shared the link to the restart page on this post. Then try rebooting your phone and attempt the set up process one more time.

Let me know if this helps! 🙂
