Suddenly phone battery is draining

I have a Flex and an iPhone, and I was doing fine with Fitbit on my phone just to count steps; then yesterday I thought I'd try using the calorie counter feature. I really loved it and am glad to be using it, but I realized that it is completely draining my phone battery, and I can't afford that. Is there some way to use it without the battery drain? If not, how do I get rid of it?

Welcome aboard to the Community @CynthiaG! I must say that I find this very weird. Your phone's battery shouldn't be draining unless you have a continuous usage of the Fitbit app. Since it will start trying to sync every time you open the Fitbit app. However, the battery consumption shouldn't be that high to drain it all. Have you recently installed a new application on your phone? What's your phone model and the current OS version it's using? I'd try logging from the Fitbit app out for at least one day and sync trough a PC if available to keep an eye on your phone's performance.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks. My phone is an iPhone 5 and the OS is 9.3.2. I tried logging out
and logging back in last night, but I didn't leave it off for the day as I
think you suggested, so I will try that next. I don't have any new apps.
I'm pretty regular in my habits and this is the only change I've had in my
phone recently; the abnormal battery drain started at the same time.
Usually I use only about 30% in a day, but these three days it's gone down
to zero or near zero.
