I go to my phone app first thing every morning and touch the icon to sync. Sometimes it syncs immediately and sometimes it takes a few minutes and a few taps on the icon. Why the delays? Am I doing something wrong or just impatient!

This is not a problem that is unique to you. Screen refresh rate is a topic I have been bringing up for years. I have found that the synchronized button on the home screen is for the most part. Ineffective to refresh probably works better. Clicking on device/app at the upper left-hand corner of the home screen choosing your device and then Scrolling down to sync now is probably the most effective way to update the screens. I have found that pressing the refresh. Now button three, four or more times is probably the most effective, because sometimes not all fields appear to refresh the first time. Hopefully this information will reassure you that you are not unique to this problem. I am a blind user, running iOS 17.3.1 on my iPhone SE using voiceover screen reading software because I am blind. I am running Fitbit version 4.10

When you manually sync, you’ll see the progress bar move. Sometimes it will disappear meaning sync is complete. Think again. Click on the device icon in the upper left. It will probably say syncing, meaning it’s still working on it. I too, get this constantly. The app can’t talk to the Fitbit servers. Eventually, it will time out and you’ll get the couldn’t sync error. Sometimes rebooting everything clears it up, but mostly you just have to try again later.
