Good evening
i have a charge 3 connected to my iphone 10 and everything is updated.
i have just found out that i should allow the fitbit app to have “ALWAYS” my location on my phone for some things to sync on my watch. If i set the option of location to “only when use of app”, the watch don’t show my weight loss, amount of sleep, number of exercises and the current location of the weather app. But the syncing from this info from the watch to the app works perfectly.
how come that the location has to be always on for this specific syncing of this information to be shown on my watch?
I thank you in advance for your answer

Hi @Walker1901. Welcome to the Community Forums.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for the information provided. Let me clarify that it's required to have the location settings set to "Always" when tracking GPS data during your exercise or updating the weather app on your Charge 3. However this shouldn't affect the rest of your information which syncs via Bluetooth. That said, let's do some steps together.
If you continue having issues to sync, please let me know and take a screenshot of any error message displayed so I can further investigate. To attach it in your reply, just check this post.
I'll be around, keep me posted.

Syncing to my watch is not yet 100%.
I have to synchronize several times over a period of a few hours before the information (sleeping, weight, water intake and number of training sessions) appears on my watch. Sometimes I only have to sync 2 times and sometimes 4 times. And there must be time between the syncs otherwise it don't work.
It also sometimes happens that synchronizing with the app is not going well. The app says that synchronization is in progress (wheel is spinning), but the progress bar is not showing and the information doesn't come through. Then I have to shut down the app and try later (not immediately).
I don't get any error messages.

And since today it doesn’t show anymore on my watch even after many times of (succesful) syncing with the app.

Hi @Walker1901. It’s nice to see you around! I'm sorry for the delay.
Thanks for sharing more details about the syncing process and for trying the steps from my previous post. Just to confirm, since you mentioned that it doesn't show anymore on your watch even after syncing, do you mean that your data (sleep, weight, exercises, etc) isn't longer showing up? If you've not done so, please try restarting your Charge 3 and trying to sync one more time.
If after doing that the issue persists, I'll need you to provide me with your phone's model and iOS version, as well to confirm if you made sure to turn off other Bluetooth connections that were nearby.
Let me know how it goes.

Hello Lizzy
thank you for the following up.
when I got my charge 3 I didn’t see these things like weight loss, amount of sleep, water and number of excercises (I will call them the 4 things). The scrolling menu stopped with active minutes. these 4 things appeared 2 or 3 weeks later.
the four things barely work (update on my watch). They sometimes update on my watch at 50% when/by:
- a soft reset of the watch
- syncing multiple times with time between
- entry of weight of water in the app
- disconnect Bluetooth of watch and gave my phone a reboot and restored the Bluetooth again.
with 50% I mean the chance of syncing on my watch. After a couple of days it randomly does it (chance 5%). I can’t see any consistency of it. I tried syncing in different environments with lots or none WiFi/Bluetooth arround. I can’t find any pattern in it.
What more strange is, is that the transfer of this information to my app works perfectly from the first time (the info on the app is always up to date). My watch collects the info of number of exercises and amount of sleep perfectly and it shows after only one sync perfectly in the app.
iI have a iPhone XS with iOS 13.3.1. The other things like notifications and screen etc are working good.
hereby you can find 2 pictures of these 4 four things.
i am not into another reset or reinstalling of my watch because my notifications are working perfectly and that is the most important to me.

Edit: @LizzyFitbit
Hello
the times also work when the all day sync is on. But this option is off on my app because it drains the battery of my phone.
i don’t think that this option needs to be on for these tiles because the sync to my app is goed. It’s very strange that the other tiles works prefectly en these not.

Hi @Walker1901. Thanks for getting back to this thread.
I appreciate the screenshot provided, as well for explaining the steps that you've tried so far to get your tiles updating. Before anything else let me explain that our team is aware that some of our members are seeing "Sleep not tracked" on their Charge 3 even though they have sleep data recorded on the Fitbit app. They're working hard to bring a solution as soon as possible and in the meantime, make sure to keep your tracker and Fitbit app updated.
About the weight, exercise and water tiles not updating, although you've tried troubleshooting your tracker I'd suggest to give a try to the following steps:
Please make sure to keep the All-Day sync enabled, that way your tracker will keep communicating with the Fitbit app to update your tiles.
Please keep me updated.

Hello Lizzy
I already did those steps but the only difference that the all day sync is not on by me because it drains the battery on my phone.
But I am gonna leave it this way because I don’t really mind that those tiles aren’t working. the most important to me is that my notifications are working. That’s why I am not fan of resetting or disconnecting my watch.
greetings
Eveke

Hi @Walker1901. I hope you're having a good day.
Thanks for checking the information shared in my previous post. About your question, if you refer to the exercise goal tile, although the information will update as long as your Charge 3 is syncing with the Fitbit app that tile should remain on your tracker's Today app.
Since that's not happening, may I know if another tile is having the same behavior? Do you recall since when this started to happen? Have you tried restarting your tracker to see if that corrects this misbehavior?
I look forward to your response.

Hello @LizzyFitbit
I have tried your suggestions with the continuous sync and restart my watch. But no solution. Like I told before, those four tiles never have worked. Barely I got an update on my watch, very very barely with no constinstancy. The exercise tile now stays visible on
my watch.
also I have a black line (dead pixels) in the middle of my watch. I already started a topic about this on the forum, but no response from the moderators. I already restarted and changed the clock display but the black line stays and it is irritating. What to do about it?
