Got the app but had it a few days and now won’t connect with phone?

I would try restarting your phone and then restarting your fitbit using this procedure:

Give this a few tries as it doesn't always work. If it still won't sync after that then there are some more ideas to try in this help file:

I’m having the same issue syncing with my iPad. Every day I have to reboot my iPad to get the app to sync with my Alta. Shouldn’t have to do this. Come on Fitbit, get your software up to date

@Frogletsmum -

I had that issue recently on my iPhone. The "sync bar" would travel halfway and freeze. Re-booting only worked for one day.

I resolved it by performing a "force quit" of the Fitbit app.

  1. Make sure the Fitbit app is up.
  2. Double-click the home button.
  3. Drag the Fitbit app up and off the top of the screen which will close the app and take it completely out of memory.
  4. Click the home button to normalize the display.
  5. Restart the Fitbit app.
  6. Now try syncing again.

I have only had to do the above twice in the last month.

The same "trick" works for other sluggish applications. In fact sometimes closing applications not in use this way assists in the device's overall performance. That is why I thought about it for the sync problem.

First off make sure the "all day" sync function is enabled in you Fitbit app.

Then on you tracker swipe right till you see "settings", then from there select shut down.

Wait 15 seconds then press the home button (which is the single button on your watch) to turn it back on then immediately open yout fitbit app and the sync should happen, AND should allow you to proceed with any current updates.

I am having issues syncing.  I have to restart my iPhone 6s (with latest OS) in order to sync with the Fitbit app.   This is a pain, won’t stick with it if they don’t fix soon!!

I know it's very frustrating.
Before you do the following make sure the "all day sync" function is enabled in your Fitbit.
Now, turn off your Fitbit watch by shutting it down via settings; it's the last option when you swipe in, so pass exercise, fitstar etc. till you find settings and shut down. Then wait 15 secs and turn your watch back on by touching the screen or the single button. As soon as you do, open your Fitbit app and it should sync.

All day sync always on. Don’t have Fitbit watch, have Flex 2.

Still won sync. I do try all the tricks before complaining and make sure I have the latest updates and always check the settings.

Thanks,
CJ

Hi, view the Flex 2 forum under NellyG. She suggests restarting your tracker a few times and posted the link on how to do that.  Ultimately if the retrys don't work then it's customer support. But let's hope it works.

I am not sure what Iphone you have but since I upgraded to the iphone 8, I can't sync to my fitbit either. Fitbit hasn't upgraded to include the newer iphones as part of their IOS for syncing. There is a post elsewhere in the community for people to vote to update/fix this issue.

I have the Alta. Auto sync is on. The app is on my iPad and I didn’t have any problems until iOS 11 . Don’t think Fitbit are up to date with their software

Did you attempt the "fix" that worked for me that I posted in message 5?
