Trouble with moving to a Google account

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm trying to move my Fitbit account to a Google account in order to add my child, who just received a fitbit.  I can't set up his account until my account is moved to Google.

When I choose the Google account I want to use, I get an error from the Fitbit app saying this account is already being used for Fitbit and I am prompted to sign out of Fitbit and resign in with the Google account.

When I do that, the app says I haven't moved Fitbit to a Google account, and I need to sign in with Fitbit.

I'm in an endless loop, help!!

Hello @cnhutch and welcome to the Community.  First, please read or re-read this Help article to make sure you are following the steps correctly.  Are you getting to these pages when you start with the following?

  • Tap on the Settings (gear) icon in the upper right of your Fitbit app
  • Tap on Move Account

Yep.  I am signed in to my fitbit account.  When I click on the gear at the top right, the settings page opens, and at the top of that page it prompts me to move to my Google account.

@cnhutch  If these two steps keep leading you to that endless loop, please contact Support for more help.

I did contact support.  The agent was incredibly unhelpful, she gave me advice that directly contradicted what all the help articles said to do.  (and it still didn't work).
