Unable to scan and log new foods

I’m unable to scan new foods to easily log them. I can’t even search for the food and log it that way. In both cases I get a endless spinning wheel as if it’s “loading” but ultimately nothing ever happens. It has been this way for me for at least 6 months now. I’ve made multiple posts about it but nothing seems to come from it. I’ve been forced to add custom foods for any new food and it’s just one more aggravation on my ever growing list with my Fitbit.

Hi there @plnkfloydian

Thanks for the details shared on your post about difficulties experienced. I appreciate your efforts trying to fix this and I'd like to confirm if you have tried the following:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log back in to your account.
  5. Sync your Fitbit and try to scan food again

Also please note that at this time, barcode scanning is only available for customers using the United States food database. If you use another food database, the barcode scanning option won't work. To check which food database you're using, see How do I change my food database?

See you around.

None of the suggestions that the mods keep saying to attempt are working.  This issue is still ongoing and has been for months, even after repeated app updates.  Searching for a new food and select it?  Constant spinning, which doesn't end until you hit Cancel.  Same thing with trying to scan a bar code in.  Having to repeatedly sync and sync and sync, and even then it sometimes doesn't work.  Foods are also still getting repeated, and calorie counts aren't correct.  I've given up on this app being effective and are actively looking for another fitness/smart watch and app to use.
