I recently updated my Fitbit app and since then I haven’t been able to search for activities when logging my exercises. Is there a bug in the system?

If not, have you tried to change the language of the app to English to see if you continue experiencing this issue? I will move this to the iOS forum. I am an iPhone user, too. I don't need to log workouts like you do. My Versa 3 has the Exercise app. But I tried to log activities that don't exist in the Exercise app and I see no change in my app behavior. My Fitbit app is version 3.49. Do you have this version? What do you see when you try to log your activities?

I use iOS version 14.8. When I go to search for activities nothing comes up, it’s only blank
