I've been using the Fitbit app since 2015 and scanning barcodes without any problems with my previous iPhones. I got a new iPhone 14 Pro last month and it will not scan any food barcode. It's like it won't focus properly. It just says "Still Looking..." Fitbit, please fix the app!!! Please.

Got a new iPhone 14 pro. Now my app won’t focus on the barcode to add food to my log. If I close the app and open the camera, it focuses just fine.

I have been messaging back and forth with Fitbit support on Twitter. After all that, it boils down to “wait for the next update on the app”, tho they said they don’t don’t have a release date planned for an update yet. Guess we’re just SOL for the time being.

It looks like I am not alone with this occurring as I'm having this issue on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I'm like come on now what the devil? LOL!

After viewing several forums, I learned that in order to scan barcodes with an IPhone 14 Pro Max (or maybe any 14), you need to hold the phone 7.8" away from the barcode. It now works for me!

This does not work for me, the app just says still searching. Any other ideas?
I called into the support team and they acted like they have never heard this problem. I told them that many are having this issue. They escalated my request and send me the following email: I am not certain how to complete these steps as the instructions are not really clear. Also, will clearing the cache permanently delete my fitbit history?
Hi Paul,
Thank you for contact Fitbit
Certainly this issue is not common and thank you for letting me know you have tried some solutions on your own.
I'm not sure if you tried already the following, but perhaps a full restart will do the trick:
1. Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings.
2. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list.
3. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone.
4 .When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.
Hope this helps and let me know how it goes

I have the exact same problem on the iPhone 14 that I bought a few weeks ago. Have you located a fix? When I call into support they react like this is new to them.....

Just tried to scan a barcode, and the camera is not focusing still. Any updates on a resolution or work-around?

Was glad to see the Fitbit team is on this issue. Since upgrading to the iPhone 14 Pro I haven't been able to scan foods into the app. I do hope a solution is found as I really hate sorting through foods to find what I need and manually log everything. The scan foods option was such a great feature.

Still no response from Fitbit. Pretty sure they don't care. Very frustrating.
