In order to ensure an optimal experience, please take a moment to update your Fitbit app to the latest version by September 30th for those using Fitbit app versions 3.00 to 3.90 and 4.00 to 4.21. If you wait beyond that date to update, the Fitbit App could experience performance issues.
Visit the Apple App Store to update the Fitbit app.
To determine your app version:
For Fitbit App 3.00 - 3.90
Google Account: Today > Account Menu (Top Right Icon) > Help > Version
Fitbit Account: Today > Account Menu (Top Left Icon) > Help & Support > Version
For Fitbit App 4.00 - 4.22 (and higher)
Google Account: Today > Google Account Menu (Top Right Icon) > Help > App Version
Fitbit Account: Today > Settings (Top Right Gear) > Help > App Version

Hi!
What exactly are these "performance issues"? I am on 4.14.1 and stopped updating because of the shockingly awful and increasingly disappointing changes to the app design and format. The last time I updated the app was 4 months ago. I can understand that there could be valid issues if the app hasn't been updated in over a year, but is Google going to cause drastic "performance issues" (such that they justify this kind of advanced warning) if the version I am on is only a few months old?

Hi Fitbit team,
Is the distance issue tackled with this new update?
All the best, Jochen.

Hello Andrea, I updated the app and lost many runs and all the maps. What is your advice?

I've always kept current with the app updates and only see new bugs every roll-out. The latest update has lost most of my historical data. I only have a handful of days at the beginning of each month (even when I logged activity every day) and the rest are missing. The corresponding week views then delete about half of those days if I want to look at details.
Additionally, when I manually enter a weightlifting or circuit training activity shows ~ 35- 40% of the expected value. If I go back into the activity to edit (I know that doesn't actually work anymore) the calorie value is "correct".
I deleted the app & data and reinstalled (on both iPhone & iPad) and still the same issues. How many more app "updates" until this gets fixed?

Since the update, my Fitbit isn’t detecting my sleep accurately and when I go to Zumba it is saying I’m on the elliptical. How can I fix this?
---
Adding to my earlier concerns, I started closely monitoring steps at the hour. Since the update, my steps are not accurate and are under recorded. I suggest this update is undone and rolled back until it’ functions correctly.

@Karin-L Agree! Why update my current 4.’something’ App, which has the disappointing new interface and moderate performance issues to a newer version that seemingly (when I read all the current IOS threads) has no significant interface improvements and reportedly more issues? Personally, I think I’ll pass for now, but thanks Google Fitbit for asking. I’ll plod on with what I have whilst it still works.

What happened? All exercise activity wiped off the app. Please advise on patch/fix/something. Training for a half marathon and need to be able to keep accurate records. Insanity.

Hi,
I upgraded 2 days ago and my data since August 26th has been wiped out and it doesn't track any new steps. Sometimes it randomly updates to a number and applies that number to all the other days that have 0 steps. I have tried everything (log out, plug in charger, plug in PC, hold down the button for 15 seconds) and nothing works. Are you going to push a fix soon? I rely on the data to calibrate my daily exercise.

Hi Andrea,
I just updated the app, and it isn’t syncing probably with my One. All the usual means of rebooting the One/ app interface aren’t working, either.
It will update today’s count for a moment, not yesterday’s, then blank out both and attempt syncing again as it drains my phone’s battery.
Is there another update coming soon?
Thanks for all you do,
Sarah Kiesling

Thanks Andrea. What if I have an older phone? The latest version I can update to is 4.14 and that's within the range you're speaking of. Does this mean these phones will no longer be supported either?

Hello Andrea, you are still promoting that everyone should upgrade, although there is an avalanche of errors and lost data. Please stop pushing users of the old version into this swamp of misery and answer the questions that ware posted. The absence of your answers makes this community useless, so start moving and solve some problems.

I have just updated iOS app to 4.24.1. The sleep stats display is so so much worse than before. Is there a way to revert to previous version?

Exactly this for me too. Using fitbit One to sync step data. Used to work fine. Now all steps gone since Tuesday Aug 27. Rebooting phone, tracker - multiple times - didn't help. Nothing works. Fitbit One DOES sync, it just doesn't show the steps. TRacker itself does, and sometimes (!!) it briefly shows correct steps, but then applies it to all previous days. Then after closing and reopening app, all the steps are gone again.
Please fix this quickly!!

Since I updated my App I can't see any data after Aug 26. I can't track and see how many steps I have done this week or what I did last week. When I go back and look at previous days steps I get the same for today - this happens for the previous day and the previous days - back through August 27. When I click on the steps (or floors or calories or distance) - I get nothing for day, week, or month. There are quite a number of people having similar problems. Any updates?

Since app version 4.24 and continuing on 4.25 on iOS, the daily totals are not displayed correctly starting on Aug 27 (when 4.24 was deployed?). It "syncs", but scrolling back on the main interface will show either no steps/calories/minutes/floors/etc, or will just repeat today's total (ifvit deigns to show today's total at all). Looking at Steps only ot shows no data. It seems to be saving it *somewhere*, because the past 7 day total does show in the "Friends" leaderboard, but nowhere else. This has been going on for at least a week. Fix it.

I have same problem. I thought I did something wrong. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Irritated when something works just fine for years, then it's broken with no answer to fix. Doggone it.

I upgraded to 4.25 earlier and now can't see how many steps I have taken this week and can't see the totals for each day - so I can't even manually add them up to see how I am doing. Is there another way to see current weekly totals with the latest version of the software?

It is not just the steps that are affected. It is calorie totals as well. IF it shows anything at all, it shows the same value for the prior 4 days (although the numbers prior to that seem OK). But more often than not, it shows nothing at all. And unlike the steps on the leaderboard, I’m not aware of an alternative place to find this value. It does appear to be “syncing”, but I don’t think it’s connecting to everything it should be connecting to. Normally when it flashes very quickly through the end of the sync progress bar, it’s because it’s not connected to the server(s).
I’m unsure why such incredibly basic features are lacking after a release. Does Fitbit not do any regression testing? Oy.
Please fix this, Fitbit. It’s absurd that I cannot see my step counts for a device that is intended to count my steps. And please add some regression test cases to your model. And make sure they pass before you release a new version.
