Updated iOS 2.41.1 not showing sleep stages.

This was corrected in I think the 2.40 update to bring back the heart rate info on the sleep tracker and as of Wednesday’s update to 2.41.1 I lost the heart rate info again. I have an iPhone 6s, with iOS 11.0.3 and I’m using s brand new charge 2.

I deleted the original log and reentered it (usually fixes the problem since this happens a lot) but this time I’m just continuing to see the classic version of the sleep tracker. I’ve logged out three times and back in (2 of which were because the app crashed).  I’ve tuened my phone off and restarted it as well and I even tried deleting and re-entering the data on the website and it’s still classic version.

I cant think of what else to try. Thanks.

Hello @MayBinLA, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Please note that the Fitbit app currently has in-app error notifications that provide an explanation for why you aren't receiving Sleep Stages on any given night. This is meant to provide insight into what might be occurring to cause this. The error messages are the following:

  1. We need more than 3 hours of sleep to reliably calculate your sleep stages. Learn more
  2. Your tracker couldn't get a consistent heart rate reading while you slept. Learn more
  3. We couldn’t generate sleep stages for this sleep. Please try again tomorrow. Learn more

When you tap on Learn more, you will be able to get more information about why your tracker didn't record sleep stages. Additionally, I'd like to suggest the following:

  • For any of the nights you were expecting to see Sleep Stages, did you ever click on the "Begin Sleep Now" or "Add Sleep Log" functions within the Fitbit App?
    • This is important to note because your tracker uses auto-detection to track Sleep Stages; so there's no need to try and remember to click on anything before falling asleep!
  • Do you have at least 3 consecutive hours of sleep?
    • This is important to note because you typically won't see sleep stages if you are waking up multiple times through out the night or taking short naps.
  • Your tracker's battery isn't at a critically low level prior to falling asleep.
  • Your device is tracking and syncing heart rate data.
    • This is important because Sleep Stages uses a combination of your movement and heart-rate patterns.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Actually that was another weird thing going on as well.  I always use the app to log the start and stop of my sleep because I quickly figured out that the auto detect wasn’t get all my sleep when I switched over from my One to the Charge 2.  But for those couple of days last week at the start of the new update it wasn’t initially recognizing my start and stop through the app and it was saying I had three hours of sleep instead.

Since I posted I’ve seen the sleep cycles return with the exception of those two days initially after the update. No matter how many times I try to delete them and re enter them.  Also I am continuing to see mornings where initially the auto detect is overriding the app start and stop until I delete it and re enter it.

I csn can live with it but I feel like something got scrambled in this update and the sleep function as I’m doing and have done all your suggestions.

Hello @MayBinLA, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply and let me know you're now able to see Sleep Stages. I'm glad. Smiley Happy

Please note that in previous nights your tracker didn't detect Sleep Stages, even if you delete and re-enter the log, Sleep Stages won't appear for those days. Additionally, I would like to suggest you to try not to start the sleep from the app and just let the tracker auto-detect it, if you receive sleep stages and still need to edit the log, you can do it and it will correct the hours without removing Sleep Stages.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.
