Versa Lite won't stay paired with iPhone

This is my 3rd Fitbit watch.  Originally had a Charge 2 and then a Charge 3.  Both were good and I had very few issues with them.  Both synced perfectly.

Bought a Versa Lite because of the price, which I know that's probably why it isn't working as well.  Since the beginning, my iPhone 7 would find the Versa Lite, but very often, when I would try to sync, it  would say "Can't Find Device," which I would have to "forget it" and reboot my phone.  That usually worked.  I also never had notifications from my Fitbit nor my telephone, although I would be asked if I would accept notifications.

I have only had this watch for 6 months.  I do have approval to return and exchange or refund from the retailer that I purchased.  I do want to exchange, but this is my question.  I still have my Charge 3 and want to use that in the meantime. Can I sync the Charge 3 to my phone and will it find my current activities?  Is there a way to back up data?  Any advice is appreciated!!

Hi @DRBeck. Welcome back to the forums. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for letting me know that your Versa Lite isn't staying paired with your iPhone. You also did a good job with the troubleshooting steps. I'm wondering if you've tried the steps from this help article. If not and you still have your Versa Lite, please give them a try.

In regards to your other question, every information previously synced will remain in your Fitbit account. You can add a previous or new Fitbit to your existent account as long as it's not the same model or shares a similar OS with other devices. In the case of the Charge 3, at this moment it cannot be set up together with the Versa Lite, however it can be together with the Charge 2.

If you need anything else, let me know.

I had an old Versa Lite, I got a new one yesterday and in my bluetooth settings on  my iPhone I had clicked "forget this device" for the old Versa Lite. Now my iphone does not recognize the new Versa and it will not synch. Any thoughts?

I ended up returning my Versa Lite. The problems never went away. I
bought an app that was supposed to help, not by Fitbit, but didn't really
help.

I went back to my Charge 3 and have only a few issues.

Hi @MikelleI, welcome on board. @DRBeck, I'm glad to see you here again.

@MikelleI, thanks for sharing that you got a new Versa Lite and let me help you to get it connected to your iPhone. Make sure to have the Fitbit app updated and give a try to the following steps:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings in your phone. If the Versa Lite still appears there, tap on forget this device.
  2. Turn off the Bluetooth in your iPhone and any other device nearby.
  3. Restart your new Versa Lite.
  4. Turn on the Bluetooth only in your iPhone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile icon > Set Up a Device.
  6. Choose the Versa Lite and follow the prompts.

@DRBeck, thanks for your efforts while troubleshooting your Versa Lite. I'm sorry that you've had this experience with your watch and if you need anything else with the Charge 3, feel free to let me know so I can give you a hand with that.

I'll be around, keep me posted.
