I’ve Google this issue and read forum topics on here, and considering I’m having the same issue today, this bug has STILL not been fixed.
Essentially, Fitbit was not recognizing my weight loss start date as the date I was at my highest weight. And so my progress has been inaccurate. I have tried going to setting>activities & wellness>nutrition & weight, and changing the start date. There’s no way to save it once you pick a new date. It will just revert back when you exit the nutrition & weight page.
In one forum, someone suggested going to the weight loss icon and reentering your goal weight. I did that and all it did was reset to tracking my weight loss to today. So now I can’t even track the weight loss that it was picking up.
This is a huge flaw that, based on the forum posts, has been in existence since 2017. It’s really kind of ridiculous that this hasn’t been fixed yet as of September 2023. Please correct this.

Best AnswerI figured out how to fix it. On the Nutrition & Weight page, you need to change BOTH the Start Date and Starting Weight. Change the starting weight to exactly what was logged on the start date in your tracked weight history. When I changed both and exited the page, when I went back, it was saved. It's now showing on the weight loss icon exactly how much I have lost. Hope this helps!
Best AnswerSorry, didn't realize settings seem to let you change start date, though maybe should have been obvious from your initial post.
