What's happened to Fitbit?

I've had a Fitbit for 10+ years and never had a problem.  The customer service was really good and the app worked well.  Since moving to the Google account I've had nothing but problems - the app and Fitbit show different steps (sometimes a significant difference); I'll get my desired daily steps on the Fitbit but the app doesn't reflect the goal; and now I can't sync at all to the app.  It's been over a week since I was able to last sync.  The problems I'm having have not been resolved and no one from customer service has responded.  I have an older Apple watch I'm thinking of switching to since I'm not getting what I want out of my Fitbit.

Hi @Sherye - as you say, under Google ownership numerous features have been removed, stopped working or changed, most noticeably due to constant changes in the Fitbit app, and backend services which have errors randomly introduced, and syncing can be one of those affected.

The introduced errors can get repaired over time, but users suffer in the meantime.

It doesn't help that there has been a reduction in support and free returns period at the same time.

Depending on your specific issues and their causes if you have restarted your phone and watch without improvement give it some time and the problem may go away unless the watch itself developed a fault.
