Hello ~ I’ve read a few posts now about the new update to the Fitbit App being available in the App Store since yesterday. I would prefer to know what it fixes / addresses before I decide to download it yet (I don’t use auto update). Is is possible to get an official v4.03 summary/overview from the team who launched it? Thanks

Hi, @MissMyData you may want to look at this Fitbit blog entry which gives a ‘sneak preview’ of the new app, including a few pictures so you can get an idea of the changes. It is fair to say that this is a complete redesign of the app rather than a fix of any particular bugs/features. Speaking for myself I really like it, especially the ability to customize your ‘focus’. I focus on heart health, for example, and I love having the stats most important to me upfront. However, it is fair to say that it is not universally popular and it may take some getting used to if you have been using the previous app version for a while.
You should be aware that once you have updated to the new app it is not possible to return to the old one.

Hi, and thank you for the links @Julia_G . Sorry I realise now I should have added in my original post that I currently have the new App v4.02 and all that comes with it. Before I hit the update button on v4.03 I wanted to get an overview of what bugs it fixes or enhancements it make’s first so I can decide if/when to update.

Not dark mode, I can tell you that. 🙄 Still no battery % number, either.

Nothing but sync issues and no reminders to move for my Charge 5.

Well the bpm number below the heart rate icon is now missing so that one thing the update did. Now it’s just a little line…..

@MissMyData - if you look at the top of the forum there is a pinned topic announcement for 4.02, 4.03 has not been added yet, and unfortunately it's likely to only say bug fixes & performance improvements too, which is of little help.
It is important to know what is changing before applying updates if you don't want to lose something that is working.
So as a general rule IF something is working it is wise to not make changes. The reverse is true for version 4 as the user's are doing the testing.

Oh! I didn’t spot that initially but now I do! Same here. I also noticed in the App Store screen shots (showing the preview of the App you’re about to install) that they show the numeric Sleep Score in the Sleep data icon example there. My App Summary sleep icon shows Sleep Duration instead (going back in time to the days when I used to get that data!). Looks to me as if they are pulling summary data through from the wrong lines (or not at all in some cases)

@Guy_ good advice and so right! I didn’t need to install the new App, I was more than happy with the original and it was working just fine for me. But I can’t undo that action now. How many votes would it need to get the option to revert back to the previous App? I saw the latest voting was up to 2,360 or so on that request.

@MissMyData - there are currently over 3,100 posts in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topics in the iOS and Android app forums alone, (numerous deleted ones have been deleted) where you will see more fully the issues.
So despite the many requests unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with testing this version officially. Though you might find some of the advice there helpful.
