What will be done with my water logged data that Fitbit/Google changed that I've logged prior?

With the mess that has been created recently- where my previous logged water data has been modified/deleted/changed- what will happen to resolve this?  Or will it simply be "too bad so sad" for you and another reason why you should pay for service reply from Fitbit/google?

This is a total mess. Knew nothing about a change in the app, then all my data was gone.
