Why do I have to sometimes open the app to get data to sync?

Most of the time when I log into the Dashboard on a PC, it will say that it was last synced with my device within the past few minutes.  That's what I expect.  But sometimes, particularly after a bike ride to work for example, I'll open the dashboard and it will say it hasn't sync'd since the 5 AM hour that morning.  So then I have to go into the iOS app to make it sync the data, and THEN it shows up on the dashboard.  What could be causing this?

Hi @PatrickGSR94, I'm glad to see you around.

Thanks for the information provided and let me help you with your inquiry. While you can sync your information in the Fitbit app installed in your phone, the fitbit.com dashboard will only show your details and settings since it doesn't have the option to sync. To constantly sync your information in your account, I'd suggest to enable the "All day sync" option in the Fitbit app > Account icon > Device image.

See you around.

I understand the the dashboard doesn't sync with the device, but it shows the last time the device was synced with the phone and uploaded to the dashboard.  Most of the time it's within the last few minutes, but sometimes it goes for hours without syncing, seems like most often in the morning after cycling to work.  At those times I have to manually open the iOS app and make the device sync.  Why does this happen?

Hi @PatrickGSR94, it's nice to see you again. I'm sorry for the delay in my response.

Thanks for getting back and clarifying that your device isn't automatically syncing with the Fitbit app. Just to confirm, have you made sure that the Fitbit app is updated? Is the All day sync enabled? Also, do you have other devices with the Bluetooth enabled nearby. You can experience interruptions with any consistently streaming Bluetooth connection such as tablets, computers, headsets, car kits, stereo audio, tethering, and file transfers. For this reason, I'd recommend to turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.

Keep me posted. Smiley Happy
