Why those with New 8 & X are out of luck

Good article, @Blanicjo. Thanks for sharing. For anyone who has one of the newer smart phones and having trouble syncing to a Fitbit device, it would be worth a shot to contact Support before giving up.

I’ve been in contact with them since Sept.  only resolution they had for me was to offer me a coupon for 50% off another Fitbit product.  But none of them say they are compatible with Bluetooth 5 or the IPhone 8 or X so that would be throwing money down the drain.

I agree, especially since it is my understanding, from what little I have read about the issue, that Bluetooth 5 is backward compatible with 4, although I have seen some qualifiers about low power support. That doesn't mean that every 4.x device will work, but it shouldn't be considered a blanket "No", either.
