Yet another iOS battery drain thread

The Fitbit app has been going crazy with background activity on my iPhone. I see that in the last 10 days, the app has been on-screen for only 30 minutes but has been running in the background for 14 hours.

What is it even doing in the background?! I have alerts, notifications, etc. turned off. I would prefer it if the app didn't sync with the tracker in the background. But that setting ("All Day Sync") seems to have been removed. I don't know why it was removed. To annoy customers? But even if the app does sync in the background, how is that taking 1.4 HOURS per day?!

This problem has existed long enough, and affects enough people, that these threads (complaining about the same exact thing) have been popping up every few months for the last 6+ years.

Wouldn't it be easier for Fitbit/Google if they just, you know, fixed the problem?
