I have followed all the instructions and the troubleshooting directions and I still cant see the alta HR as a bluetooth item on my phone to connect to.

Hi, @altawontconnect, you cannot connect your Alta directly to your phone's Bluetooth. You must make the connection via your Fitbit app.
If you have set up your Alta with the Fitbit app, on your app select your Alta icon, then toggle notifications to ON. You will get a notification asking if you would like to "pair" your Alta. Say yes.
Once it is paired you can turn off notifications if you prefer.

Hi, @altawontconnect, it is very unusual to have serious syncing problems with iPhone 6, so I am sure we can talk you through it if we can get to the bottom of what the problem is.
1. Have you downloaded the Fitbit app?
2. Have you set up a Fitbit account and logged into the app?
Those are the first steps.
After that, in your Fitbit app on your iPhone you need to choose "set up a new tracker". Can you let us know how far you are getting in this process and where you are seeing error messages?
