Hi I had given my son an ace two for his birthday on Friday. The device was fully charged, and today (Sunday) it’s almost out of battery. He has made no adjustments to the clock face & No alarms .

I thought it had a. 5 day battery life ?

Hi, @Wells2006, your sn’s Ace should have “up to” 5 days battery charge.  The exact amount will vary from user to user, but having said that, it should certainly get close to that, especially with no alarms set.

There are several steps you could take which might improve things.

1. Although it is a brand new Fitbit, it still might help to clean the charging contacts to make sure the Ace can charge fully and efficiently.  Instructions for cleaning can be found here.

2. Whenever your Fitbit is not behaving as expected it is a good idea to give it a restart.  Restarting a Fitbit will shut down any background activities that may be causing unusual battery drain.  Instructions for restarting the Ace can be found here

3. Finally, make sure it really is fully charged.  It is safe to use a wall charger, as long as it is UL/CE certified (the original charger that came with your phone, as long as it accepts a USB, should be fine.  Cheap replacement chargers not UL / CE certified could damage your device or even be a fire hazard).  Charging via a wall charger should take approximately 2 hours from empty to full.  Charging via a computer USB port can take as much as twice as long, and don’t forget that in most cases the computer will not deliver charge unless it is awake.

If you set up email notifications in your app you should get a notification when the battery is low, and also one when the battery is fully recharged and ready to go.  It would be a good idea to charge it fully and then check how long it is before you get the low charge. notification (for me, I can usually use my Fitbit for 12-24 hours after low charge notification.

I hope this helps.  Please post again with further questions on this or another subject.  Welcome to the forums!
