Ace 2---tracking steps when away from device

We have the Ace 2 linked to an Iphone that stays with me when my daughter is at her dad's house.  Will it track her steps/sleeping patterns on the watch itself while she is away from the phone?  Will the app sync and take in all the new information from when she is away once she is back?

It should track everything as normal and store about 1 week's detailed data; longer than that it stores daily summaries.  Either way will sync to your phone when back.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
