Yesterday my daughter who is 10 bought the Fitbit Ace with her own money that she has been saving up....I have a Fitbit myself so she couldn't wait to join me in challenges etc.....we got it all set up and to her disappointed and mine also the strap was too small! She is only 10 and an average sized girl...why would you make the strap too small? Of course now that it has been open she can't return it. I have a very unhappy girl and mom 😞 now she has to start saving for a strap....I really hope this issue is corrected. Thank You

You could try shopping for Alta/Alta HR bands on third party sites, such as eBay. The Ace band is interchangeable with those models. Basically the Alta line is the adult version of the Ace.
I bought a band last year on eBay for my Alta HR, and to give you an idea for prices, mine cost me $5 and it was a mesh rhinestone band. It ended up being a lot cheaper than buying a band from Fitbit.
