Hello!

I gave my son a birthday present of a Fitbit Ace today for his birthday and now I see that you need Windows 10 to make it work?

I have an Alta and use my PC with Windows 8.

If so, this is going to turn out to be a rotten birthday 😞  especially seeing that we had to cancel his party as my other son is sick!

@AMB333 Welcome to our Fitbit Community! Regarding your question, I'd like you to take a look at this help article which lists the platforms that the Ace syncs with. Unluckily, Windows 8 doesn't have Windows store. With this being said, the Fitbit app is available for Windows 10 since this Windows version does have Windows store and is capable to have apps installed.

 

You can go ahead and set up your child's Ace with your own phone. The Article mentioned above explains how to set up the Fitbit Ace.
