Hello, I think my son's fit bit is miscounting his steps.
For example. All his 15 min intervals change greatly. These are times where we are doing the same thing. Walking to and from school or walking the dog. Our route is the same and distance is the same.
8:45-9:00 am - 1385 steps one day, 1451 steps another day.
3-3:15 pm 1066 Steps one day. 1616 steps another day.
All the same route and distances walked.
In the evening walking dog. Same route and distance
One walk (x 2, 15 min intervals) 2995 steps all up one day.
2771 steps another
I understand with the intensity of walking can change the number of steps. It just seems like such a big gap of steps a child would walk. Fit bit is always adjusted on his wrist the same way and on the same hand each day.
Had this issue previously and was told to reset fitbit. I did this a couple times and it still is happening

@NicoleH88 it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your son's Fitbit Ace since it won't track his steps accurately. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums and providing details about the steps amount each day.
Please check out this help article and follow the tips that it contains. It also explains how accurate are the Fitbit devices. Once you've tried those tips, monitor your son's Fitbit Ace and see if the issue gets fixed.
Keep me posted on the outcome! ![]()

Thanks for the reply .
I did read the article you linked but did not think it would be inaccurate by hundreds of steps when nothing changes with the route or distance we walk or the time it takes.
I did just check on his height ect though and realised all the wrong details had been put in wrong.
I've updated these and will also try with the fitbit on his left hand (as he is right handed so it may throw off steps also)
Will see how we go now.
Thanks again
