New Ace Devices are $75 bricks... Useless

So I do not understand why no one at Fitbit is fixing this issue. And why the company is sooooooooo totally clueless.

Here is the Problem

  • Fitbit has switched to Google accounts so no one can create a new Fitbit account without going through Google. (On a separate note creating a new child account on Google is painful but that's okay I guess for security)
  • An account for a child under 13 is required to activate a Fitbit Ace device.
  • Google accounts for child under 13 are considered supervised accounts
  • Supervised accounts are not allowed to log into the Fitbit app under any conditions. I have tried android tablets and iPads it WILL NOT WORK
  • Please don't waste time calling Fitbit support they are totally and utterly clueless about it. They will keep on sending you in rotating circles.

It is simply not possible to use these devices if you are creating a new account from scratch. The sheer incompetence of the team is mind boggling.

If you have bought a new Ace device for your kids return it and get a Garmin JR.

If you were gifted with an ace device then you are out of luck. Either try to return it with the gift giver or just use it for playing catch.

I've been frustrated for days now and even the Fitbit support has stopped responding to my emails. They are soooo clueless it's not funny. For months now new buyers have struggled with this piece of crap situation without resolution.
