Setting stride length for child's FitBit Ace

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've created a family account and added my son's new FitBit Ace to it.  I can not figure out how to adjust HIS stride length calculation.   I don't even see an option for that ... only see it under MY settings.   I've googled but am obviously missing something.   He put in 10,000 steps while coloring at the lunch earlier, so there's some sensitivity settings I need to fix obviously 🙂   Thanks in advance.

Hi @Boomer413

Article for setting stride - click to read

The Fitbit devices are wrist based and can think coloring, knitting, waving or any other movement is a step. You can negate those steps by following these directions - click

See if that helps you and let us know.

That does help. Am I also able to adjust his stride somewhere?

@Boomer413 You can’t adjust Stride for a child’s account. Stride is only used for distance which isn’t tracked with the Ace, so that wouldn’t make a difference here anyway. You could make the Ace less sensitive to small movements by setting the wrist and handedness setting to the same arm.  So if he is right-handed, have him wear it on his left arm and set both handedness and wrist settings to right.
