Turn off notifications on Ace 3

What kind of crap device/software is this that without me actually setting this up, allows my child to see ALL of my iMessages?!

All my messages are being forwarded to the ACE 3

There isn't even an option in the fitibit ios app to allow or deny this!

How do I turn this awful feature off?!

Actually you should go into the Bluetooth menu on your phone, click on your ace 3, and turn off system notifications. This way you don’t have to turn off your kids goals and congratulatory notifications with DND.

Do you have a family account setup and the Ace tied to the child account?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @humanmacro. It's nice to see you around and thank you for your help, @Jrdubyakc.

@humanmacro Thanks for the details shared in your post. I understand how you are feeling about this situation. I recommend doing the following:

1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture from the Today tab.
2. Tap My Family.
3. Under your child's name, tap Switch to Kid View.

4. Tap your child's profile picture.

5. Tap Ace 3 > Notifications > Turn off notifications.

Please also turn off notifications in quick settings on Ace 3: press and hold the buttons on the tracker. Tap DND to turn on do not disturb. The DND icon illuminates to indicate that all notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders are turned off.

Hope this helps.

After I tap my child’s profile picture I’m not seeing the “Ace 3” area I’m supposed to press. All of my messages are going to my child as well.

This doesn’t work. Nothing happens when you tap on the child profile photos. There is not an option to turn off notifications. My son is getting all of my texts. I now have to take back his Christmas present until it can be fixed.

Thank you for this tip! I didn’t want to disable goal notifications or celebrations. (Come on, fitbit, this is basic and obvious stuff for a kids device!)

This was the only helpful solution - THANK YOU!! I think fitbit needs to do some re-thinking on this. My child doesn’t have their own phone to link so it’ll set up in a family plan. It should not also share my personal notifications to his watch.

Hey: To expand on Cody's very useful answer: I set my kids fitbit up with a connection to another device. *that* device (ipad) is receiving notifications from my phone. I solved the problem by following Cody's recommendation on the device that the fitbit was bluetooth connected directly to (rather than through my fitbit account).

Thank you, Cody. This helped me with this issue too.

Thank you! Such a lifesaver and easy fix!! I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to stop my notifications coming up on my kids fitbit ace 3!

That worked, thanks! The other suggestions did nothing…

They’ve changed it so now when you go to notifications, you can only change it relative to calls, not texts. Utterly absurd. I agree with the post that this should not be the case for a kids device that is likely tied to a parents phone. A parent who does not want their child getting their text messages. This seems like an truly absurd oversight.
