Alta HR Short Battery Life

I was gifted a fitbit alta hr and last night at 4:40 am I charged it fully for the first time and setup it and today at 12:40 pm I saw the battery low alarm. I was surprised because I have searched and found it should hold the battery for 7 days. What is the problem and what should I do to fix it?

Thanks for the details provided about the battery. Alta HR's battery will last up to 7 days depending on the usage, the way that it's charged, etc. I recommend you to check this help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life? where you'll find more details on how to maximize the battery's life, tips to charge it, etc.
