My 2 year old Alta HR has suddenly stopped syncing with my pixel 3. I unpaired the watch from my phone and now it will not reconnect. My phone can find the watch, but once I enter the 4 digit code into my phone, it will not connect. I have tried 20+ times. I have also taken the following steps to no avail:
- turned off bluetooth for 20 seconds and turned back on
- tried pairing watch from device settings
- restarted app
- restarted phone
- reset watch
- uninstalled and reinstalled app
Please help!

You just gave me a crazy idea that fixed the pairing problem! I paired the fitbit to my husband's iPhone (which worked first time), unpaired it, then it paired to my pixel straight away. Thank god, I really didn't want to have to replace the tracker.
Thanks for the idea ☺️

Okay, I thought I was crazy. This exact same thing has happened with my Alta HR and Pixel 3. Very, very frustrating. I love my tracker, but don't wanna get another Fitbit if it's gonna stop working in a few years. In addition to the steps you've taken, I even tried adding it to another phone to make sure it wasn't my phone, but it still wouldn't get past the 4 digit code. Hopefully we can get an answer or fix.

Hello,
I have also have the same problem since yesterday. Well I noticed that only my steps were syncing, but not my sleep for a few days. So I tried to reconnect and sync, but as this wouldn't work, I deleted the device and tried to reconnect. Now I have the same issue, it finds the tracker, and sends a code, but then the app just keeps on turning. I tried on my motorolo G8 Power, but also on the fitbit connect computer app. I have tried all the different troubleshooting steps. My alta HR is also 2 years and a week. Seems like an issue with the app, because my fitbit itself is still tracking steps and everything.

Pixel 3 owner, own an Alta. Haven't used it in awhile, charged it up and noticed it wasn't syncing correctly.
Would not sync or connect no matter what.
Removed the device from the app, and now I'm stuck in the 'Try again death loop'.
I have rebooted my phone, reinstalled the app, turned Bluetooth on and off again more times than I can count, and it simply will not work. My Pixel, app, and Fitbit are all completely up to date. This is ridiculous.
Im starting to think older devices just get disabled and incompatible over time so you're forced their newer more expensive ones.

Oh that's great to know. I just have to find an iPhone to try this workaround on. Thanks!

This is similar to what I just did last night. Thank goodness, after 2 weeks of being disconnected, my Alta HR is working again. I hope everyone who has this problem is able to remedy the situation. I was already grousing because I invested in a new band and extra charger. I hope our Fitbits last many years to come.

I had the same thing happen, started on 1/4 and I have a pixel 2. I have done everything in troubleshooting and nothing is working. I tried on another phone and it didn't work. I really don't want to get a new watch.

Been trying to sync my Alta HR to my phone all morning. Even tried pairing it with the app on my desktop - still doesn't work.
When it tries to pair on my desktop, I don't even get the code on the fitbit.
Tried everything you listed, but only have another android device to try and pair it.

My Alta HR has not been worn since August 2020, but is in perfectly fine condition, fully charged and won't sync. I have turned Bluetooth on and off, charged and played with the button on cord to reset, and Reinstalled Fitbit onto my phone. Nothing appears to be working.
I too have a Pixel 3
If I can't get this to work, I will throw out and vow to never buy another Fitbit product again. It shouldn't be this hard, and considering so many other customers are having the same issues, seems Fitbit doesn't seem to care. They probably want everyone to upgrade or something.
If anyone has ANY TIPS, besides the ones I posted above, I am open and willing to hear them! thanks
