Hi there, my Alta HR is just under 2 years old and for the last 1-2 weeks I've noticed a very sudden increase of the rate at which the battery drains.
It hasn't happened gradually over time - it went from being able to last a week or 2 so to suddenly not even lasting a day from full charge.
I've tried:
- Cleaning the device
- Resetting it via the USB cable
I'm wondering if maybe somethings gotten into the battery, or if there was some kind of OTA software update that started affecting battery life?
I'd be grateful for any advice!

I have the same thing going on. Are you seeing this? My watch went from 85% to shut down and this in about 3 hours.

Honestly I'm not even catching it that quickly to see the battery critical image - it just shuts off for me by the next time I check and then when I plug it in to charge, it charges up from 0%.

I'm having the exact same issue with my Alta HR. It was fine a week ago, and now it's going from 100% to dead in about 8 hours. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having the issue, but I hope it's something that can be fixed so I can keep using the Alta HR, because it's perfect for me.

This happened to my Alta within 7 months of having it. I’d charge it all night and it wouldn’t last through half the day. Had to stop using it cause I wasn’t getting what I paid for 😞

Feel lucky mine went from 100% to 59% in 2 minutes, it will be at 0% in about 5 more minutes. This started in June, 2020. Before that I went between 3-4 days without having to charge. Mine was a gift given to me last August. When I asked when they got it they couldn't remember but they said they got it a few months before my birthday. And they are not receipt keepers. So I'm looking for a good basic step counter with a clock. Shame because I liked my alta hr.

I'm having similar issues, only seems to have happened in the last month or so, really annoying as I'm missing out on steps. Has anyone heard from Fitbit about resolving the problem?

I haven't heard anything. I've tried contacting them but it seems their warranty claim process has changed? Just a couple of months ago I was able to file a claim and get my damaged band replaced and the process was painless and very quick, but now I'm struggling to find links to contact them in the best way.
I've resetted my device a few times since my original post and the problem still persists. I charged it to 100% 12 hours ago and now it's down to just over 50%.

I managed to contact the Live Chat today who sent me details to do a battery drain test. However, it requires you to sync the device 4-5 times a day and I've found out that I can't sync successfully sync my device.
I've followed the troubleshooting steps here, and followed the advice on the forums here, but it still says the last sync was on 25th September (which coincidentally is around the time first noticed the battery drain problem).
But I can still see what activity has been tracked daily on the app and on my dashboard? So I'm not sure what kind of syncing it meant to be going on - whether it is syncing, and the app is bugging out and telling me it isn't. Or whether there's a separate kind of sync that isn't related to how my activities are shown in the app which isn't working.
I've attached 2 screenshots - one that shows the device page where it is perpetually syncing, and the other the dashboard which shows data from today.
Dashboard data seems to be synced?
Perpetually syncing
I'd be grateful for any advice or information on this, or if anybody is having a similar problem.
