Alta won't charge

Good morning,

I’ve had my Fitbit for a while now and it would work fine but recently the battery just won’t charge. It’s connected and shows it’s charging but despite leaving on all night it’s still stuck on that screen and then when disconnected nothing happens.

@Rachael.L that's an indication that the battery may be coming to the end of its lifespan. The Alta was discontinued in March 2019. No new ones were manufactured after that time. That means your Alta is at least 5 years old. It's likely to be even older than that. You've done an amazing job keeping your Alta working this long.

Unfortunately, rechargeable batteries have a shelf life. Even batteries that are never used will lose power over time. It sounds as though your battery may be at the end of its useful life. You may want to try restarting your device (instructions here) a few times to see if that helps.

Plug your Fitbit in. Press the little button on the charging cable. You have to do it several times. I found with mine sometimes it takes 30+ times before it starts charging. It will softly buzz like it does normally when you plug it in.
