Hi @kas1977 I am sorry, but it sounds like your Alta has died. Restarting is the only option to try to fi  it and that didn't work....

No that hasn’t worked either, the battery lights up when it’s plugged it.
I’ve tried to delete it and re add it to the account but still nothing

Same happening with my Alta. 100% charged; while plugged in to charger, shows time, date, etc when tapped. Yet, when wearing- nothing

Mine was never even used - I gave it to my mother and she never used it, so I decided to use it.  Went through all the steps, charged fully, but won't work if it is off the charger.  I was going to try the Alta out to see if I liked it before considering an upgrade like a Versa, but this situation has caused me to lose confidence in Fitbit.  I read through the forum and all I saw was advice to re-charge it - That advice clearly did not work and it seemed like the person responded just wanted to throw out a quick fix and move on.  I'm going to look at other manufacturers, eg the Apple Watch.

@JSB123   The type of battery in a Fitbit (and many other fitness trackers) will degrade over time.  I see reports of experiences just like yours over and over again with different devices.  An old battery is an old battery.  The Alta was released in 2016.  You would likely have the same experience with an Apple Watch that sat unused for six years.

I had the exact same problem! My dad bought it for mum as a Xmas present but she never used it so gave it to me . t sat in a box for about a year and then I went to use it. Plugged it in and it charged fine. But a few months later I went to look at it and it was dead and has never charged up since! It has still never been used! Not sure what else I can do?…
