Device randomly turning off

More recently these last four weeks, my alta keeps switching off with no apparent reason. It is really frustrating because I love my alta and just wish it would stop turning itself off. As soon as I put it in charge it switches back on and battery indicates full. I have been suffering with osteoarthritis for the last three years and in a mission to do 10,000 steps a day but with the Fitbit switching off does not help.  I wondered why I was no longer getting emails to say battery running low now I understand. Due to my health issues please can I exchange my Fitbit ! for another model

Hi @Sonj10, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for all the details that were shared, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your Alta following the next steps and check if you're charging it correctly here.

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.
  3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.
