Inaccurate Sleep Data

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The last few days I'm only getting basic sleep data and it's crazy inaccurate - like recording that I've gotten less than 4 hours of sleep at night (exactly 3 hr. and 44 min. the last two nights - really?) I may not be the best sleeper (which is why I like to track the sleep) but I know that's nowhere near correct. Anyone else noticing this issue and/or have recommendations on how to fix it?

Hi @Mariola

I find that happens to me on night when my heart rate is higher than normal, but then returns to normal once I get back to normal.

You can restart your fitbit if you think it's a malfunction.

To restart please follow the below directions:

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.
  3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Hope this helps and let us know if any additional issues.

My heart rate hasn't changed so that isn't the cause. I'm continuing to get only basic sleep data and the data is wildly inaccurate. I have reset my fitibit and the malfunction continues. Like many others, I think it's time to consider purchasing a non-fitbit product.

I was having the same problem. I tried moving the Fitbit further up on my arm before going to sleep, 3 finger widths above my wrist bone instead of the 2 finger widths that I had been using. After doing that I started getting sleep stages again and the overall sleep data seems more reasonable.
