New Fitbit Alta won't setup

I was so excited to get my Fitbit Alta. And... I can't even set up the initial charge. So, I went to youtube, the forums and finally went to chat. It seems that I am dealing with a Bot.

I was told that the bot was thankful for my efforts several times and that they were going to be transparent with the comments and they were respectful of my decisions.

Good grief. Now, I must package up and return. What a waste of two hours of my time and I still don't have a FitBit!

Try a call to Fitbit support.

 

Fitbit customer support is doing their best, but right now be prepared for longer wait times. Please be patient. Support is limited by the number of representatives available at a given time and the hours of operation. Chat lines are open when they have live help.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to return the product. I did not find the bot support very helpful and I don’t have hours to spend on the phone as there is already a note that wait times are long and support is limited. It seems like the Alta and Fitbit in general are not good products from the forum comments.

Not everyone with a Fitbit is unhappy and you rarely see people come here to say they are content.  With my family and friends, no one has had problems and they also don't post on the forums. You could try calling tomorrow when people are there to answer the phones. Maybe you could try and see if this can work out for you. Since you bought it, you must have wanted to keep track of your fitness journey.
