Suddenly glitching....

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an Alta HR and yesterday I noticed the heart rate seemed to be zooming off the charts when I wasn't really walking very hard, last night it didn't pick up my heart rate at all while I was sleeping with it on, and today I suddenly show 116 active mins when I had barely taken 1000 steps. Yipes!  I tried plugging it in and hitting the reset button but that doesn't seem to be helping.  Any advice?

Hi @SuzanneMc

I suggest restarting your Fitbit at least three times.  Sometimes the first time doesn’t take.
then I suggest restarting your phone and syncing fully to ensuring the data transferring is the best available.

please let us know if this is helpful or if you need further guidance.

Thanks I tried that and it is still acting glitchy.  I am very disappointed in Fitbit overall ... I can't even say how many times I have replaced them and they keep failing.  This one is less than a year old.  I think it's time to shop for a new company.

@LTTTTL suggested on a similar post that a way to handle this is to "set you tracker as a replacement on your existing Fitbit account". He linked to directions, but the link no longer works (the post was from a couple of years ago).

So I've actually restarted my tracker at least four times a day over the past few days. Two nights ago I got frustrated enough that I just let it recharge overnight rather than wearing it.

Active minutes were racking up (that day I got over 400 active minutes when I should have had about 100 from walking). Also, it showed my heart rate constantly spiking even while resting. I double-checked my heart rate a few times manually, which was much lower and much more accurate/appropriate.

So after this, after restarting multiple times, I decided to just plug it in, let it recharge (it had been at about 3/4 fully charged), and go to bed.  While it charging overnight, it racked up active minutes AND showed a sleep pattern of 3 hours and 50 minutes. While I was definitively not wearing it. After being restarted multiple times. I did wear it again last night, and the sleep patterns were messed up and my heart rate is again showing cardio and peak while sitting. I can guarantee this is not the case.

Is this thing just done? Is it time to trash it? I've only had it a year and a half?! No one seems to have an answer.

Mine is doing the same thing and I have had it less than a year! Piece of junk. This is my third Fitbit in as many years so I have decided NOT to buy another Fitbit.   If I am getting junk I may as well spend far less on them.  😞 Grr
