Does anyone know why I cannot turn off the Quick View Option on my Alta HR? I had it set as 'Off' for years, but recently got a new phone (Samsung Galaxy S21) and now it constantly shows as 'Show Clock'. If I select 'Off' it still stays as 'Show Clock' (there are no other options listed). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app on the phone but no change. Any suggestions welcome, thanks in advance.

Hello @TwoOneAlpha
I see you have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app. Have you tried restarting your Fitbit Alta? I used to have an Alta myself until I got a Versa 2. I loved my Alta and restarting always helped fix most issues. Look here to see how to properly restart your device:https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm
Let me know if this resolved your issue. 😃 Happy Stepping!

I am having same problem. Want to turn off quick view so I can track sleep without it. I click on menu option and the radial buttons for turn off and show clock pop up, but selecting one doesn't change anything. Still on show clock.

Hello @SunsetRunner
Thanks for your response. I had previously re-installed the app as sometimes that clears issues, but not restarted the Alta. Have done that now, but it still hasn't cleared the problem. Guess I'll just have to poke up with it until such time as the battery recharging gets too frequent between recharges. Thanks anyways.

Hello @TwoOneAlpha and @mwjensen
Gosh I’m so sorry that restarting your Fitbit Alta didn’t resolve the problem. I did dig around a bit trying to find a solution for you. Of course restarting your tracker is one of the big things to try but did find an odd possible solution for you. If it works or not I can’t promise anything but here’s what I found:
- For Quick View to work properly, your Fitbit device needs to know which wrist it’s being worn on and whether you’re right-handed or left-handed. To check if this is the problem, open the Fitbit app, select your profile photo, select your tracker, then make sure the Quick View toggle is turned on.
- On that same screen, you’ll see options to change your wrist placement. Make sure you’re wearing your Fitbit on the correct wrist and that you’ve chosen whether or not you’re right or left-handed. This will have a big effect on whether or not Quick View works properly.
I’m not sure if this will resolve the issue but it certainly wouldn’t hurt looking at your wrist placement settings. Also you can try to switch your Quick View option off using the online dashboard instead of trying it directly through the tracker. Here’s how: From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the gear icon > your device image. Find the option to turn off Quick View.
Please let me know. I’ll be curious and of course happy if this does help. 😃
