switching fitbit alta with fitbit charge 3 device

Hi. I have been using fitbit alta for 3-4 years now. I have recently bought charge 3, now I can't seem to switch my account from alta to charge 3. I want to use my new charge 3 now and want to gift alta to a friend. Need your help to guide me how can I accomplish this.

In phone app, tap profile pic at top left, then your tracker, Alta.  On Alta page, tap the trash can icon at top right. 

Then in phone bluetooth settings, check if Alta is still paired.  If so, unpair it.  (I think deleting Alta from Fitbit app as above does this but better to double-check). 

Then, in Fitbit app, still logged into same account, from 'Today' tab, tap profile pic to get to 'Account' page.  Click 'Set up a Device' and follow instructions to add Charge 3.

Welcome to the forums, @Nabeelaanas9 and congratulations on getting a new Charge 3. There are two things you need to do:

1. From the Fitbit app on your phone, tap Account (at the top, left corner), then tap Alta. Scroll down to Remove This Alta and follow directions.
2. Next, open the Bluetooth settings on your phone. If the Alta is still listed there, tap to Forget This Device.

You should now be able to add your new Charge 3 from Account in the Fitbit app. Your lucky friend will have to download the Fitbit app and add the Alta from there. Please let me know if this works for you .... or if you have any other questions.
