Active Sync not working while running (one plus 6)

Hi all,

I have been using my Fitbit with one plus for a while. when I had my One Plus 3T it worked perfectly and I never had an issue. But since upgrading to the oneplus 6 I've had issues with the Fitbit and phone syncing GPS, when I start a run on the Fitbit, it says I need to check Fitbit app, I do and phone starts syncing not everytime but sometimes I have to close app and reopen more than once. It starts syncing with Fitbit and Google services using GPS notifications, but by the end of the run these are both gone and Fitbit has lost connection with phone, I have tried all the tips that Fitbit have got on their website, with changing the battery optimization setting etc. but no luck. it may be a Pie issue but hoping someone has had the same and has a resolution.

any help would be appreciated many thanks

Welcome to the Forums @beng94.

Thanks for trying all of those steps to get the Fitbit to sync with your phone before posting in here.

This might be happening because the OnePlus 6 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Having said that, as you mentioned, running Android 9 could also lead to the Fitbit not connecting properly to the phone. Any updates on the Android 9 situation will be posted in here.

Hi, thank you for your reply . That probably would be why, I have tried a few more suggestions plus putting on always connected on my app and that seems to be working more regular but now and again it keeps asking me to check app, which I do and it still doesn't connected .could be a Bluetooth issue possibly .I will keep trying

If I find a solution I will put it here, many thanks

Hey @beng94.

Thanks for sharing all of the steps that you have tried so far.

Hopefully you do find a solution that helps 100% of the time.

In the meantime, maybe you could support this suggestion about adding the OnePlus 6 to the list. You can comment and vote for it to show your support. Be sure to also read the FAQ to better understand how that board works.
