Activities logged with 7 hours difference

Hi there,

I have a Google Pixel 6 and a Pixel Watch. I've had nothing but issues with the time zones since getting the watch. I live in a -7 time zone, but in the Fitbit app all of my tracking information is 7 hours off. I've tried everything and recently factory reset, wiped all my data off both my phone and my watch and it magically started to work. Then there was a time change last Sunday and all the time zone issues have come back. I have factory reset my phone and watch multiple times and that isn't fixing it this time. I live in a unique area where our time zone never changes so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. The time on my watch and phone is all accurate, it's just the tracking in my Fitbit app that is all wrong.

Hi, @KootenayRoots! There is a setting in the Fitbit app for time zone under settings, maybe go and check what that is set to?

Yes I have tried all of the time zones in the app settings. Unfortunately that is where the issue is.

@MakMak Thanks for your input.

@KootenayRoots Nice to see you in the forums again. Thanks for reaching out about the time your activity is being recorded, the explanation and your initiative to solve this on your own.

This is the first time I see this situation. If I understood correctly, for example you train at 14:00 hours and this training will be logged at 07:00 hours, right? Does the same thing happen to your sleep logs? Are the activities also shown 7 hours off on the Fitbit.com Website? May be just an issue with the app. Seems that you have tried what I would suggest. Given that you have factory reset both of your devices, I assume the Fitbit app has been installed again, meaning is up to date.

It must be related to the time zone setting in your account. It may not be saved. Would you be so kind to go and check the time zone setting on the Fitbit.com website? Open the Fitbit.com website and log in with your credentials. Click next on the gear shown in the top right corner and then on "Settings". Under "personal settings" you find the time zone. Please change it and then sync your device. You can then check if the time zone was corrected by logging a quick activity.

Hi @RodrigoMFitbit , thanks so much for the reply!

Yes - that is exactly correct. Steps, exercise, and sleep tracking are all shown as 7 hours ahead. Weirdly enough, heart rate tracking is accurate. Having the same issue on the Fitbit website as well and have checked to make sure the time zone on there is accurate as well. I'm stumped. I've had a Fitbit before and it worked fine in my area and know several other people that have Fitbits that work just fine as well.

Also, when I switch my timezone on the app to (GMT 0)  this allows me to see the data at the correct time until the time in that location switches to a day ahead of us, then it seems to know something is wrong.

It seems like a weird and unique glitch but it has been quite frustrating!

*Edit - just logged an exercise on the website to see what would happen. Time showed up correctly on both the website and in my app, so something definitely in the app.

@KootenayRoots Thanks so much for the reply and results from your tests.

Okay, so it is definitely on the app. Please try to delete the caché files of the Fitbit app and check it again. Do you have a spare smartphone or tablet to try it on as well? Thanks in advance.

@RodrigoMFitbit

Yes - tried cache and restarting with unfortunately no luck.

I do have a spare device and it is able to work properly through that one.

I did another factory reset since it seems to be a specific issue my device is having with the app but still no fix.
