When something isn't in the database, I get told I can add it with you photos. But there's no button to let me take them, or any instruction on how to do it.
Is this a bug, or am I being stupid and missing it

It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community @DrNickDoom! Please note that at this time, barcode scanning is only available for customers using the US food database. If you have chosen a non-US food database, you'll see the barcode scanning option but it won't work. To check which food database you're using:
If you change your food database you'll be able to scan and add food to the food database.
I hope this helps, keep me posted! 😉

I am using the UK databases, and it does work sometimes. With food, that is not available in the US.
Still, it says I can add things in, which I am happy to do.
If I can't can I cat I at least have this message turned off until I can?
I mean It's not all that fair I am taunted by something I am still waiting for you to implement for non-US people lol.

I have had the same experience, its annoying that we are not able to improve the database just because we are in the UK.....come on fitbit sort it out!

Thanks for you reply @DrNickDoom! Welcome to the Community Forums @Aldostrachan! Thank you for sharing your feedback about the Fitbit app. I also think this could be a nice addition. The best place to make your voice heard is the Feature Suggestions board. There you can upvote for similar suggestions or create your own. The suggestions with more votes are taken into consideration by our developers for next app updates. 🙂
Catch you later! 😉

I have same problem on android, using UK database, in uk, gives me option of adding photos and information but no way to do so, on laptop , I can log food in manually as new food in the log, but it only lets me put in the calories and not the nutritional values or barcode which is a shame as i would have taken the time to add to the database in a constructive manner that helped all users.
Am i missing something ?

Okay guys, actually found where i could edit the food information by accident while trying to delete a test scan product, put nutritional values in, probably just in my account, don't know but there was no barcode entered or requested.

If you are i am too, a little bit of coding to allow us to add to the UK database (likely just removing the clumsy implement restriction that currently in place while still showing us the message about adding), and we do the data gathering
