After FitBit app migration, can no longer export ECG

My fitbit charge 5 died a little after 1 year of having it, right outside of warranty.  After reading forums, I guess it is pretty common for FitBit hardware to die right outside of warranty.

so anyways, I bought a google pixel 2 watch because i wanted something that would last.  While getting it set up, i had to switch migrate FitBit from my personal email to a gmail account.  Several snags and restarts here because while the Google Watch app allows me to use a Google Workspaces account, FitBit does not, and this put both apps in a state where nothing worked and I needed to reinstall both Google Watch and Fitbit.

Anyways, after dealing with the extremely poor user experience of migrating my FitBit app to a personal Gmail account, I found out that I can no longer export any of my ECG's.  I see them.  It lets me click export, but the push notification simply never arrives.

The problem:
  *  I can no longer export *any* ECG readings now (not the past ones from my Charge 5 or the new ones with my new watch)
  * When I click "export", the push notification simply never comes.

Relevant Notes:
 * Android
 * It looks like all my health data was moved (it does appear in FitBit app after migration), I can see all my previous data

What i've tried:
 * Enabling notifications on the app
 * Clearing FitBit app cache.
 * Reinstalling the FitBit app.
 * Reinstalling the google watch app
 * repairing Pixel 2watch with FitBit app
 * logging in/out of my Fitbit account
 * Signing in with my old FitBit email (its no longer valid, tells me to login now with Google)
 * Looking at debug logs from Fitbit using the Android debug bridge (nothing relevant)

I'm about to just cancel my FitBit subscription, never buy a FitBit product again and return the Pixel 2 watch.

Any idea how I can get these ECGs exporting again?

It's probably a long shot, but have you checked if it can be synced using https://health.google/health-connect-android/ ?

Bruh, this is a horrible experience.

I checked out health connect and allowed FitBit access to health data, which resulted in my FitBit account getting unlinked from my google account.  So I had to sign back into google using my FitBit account.  Upon signing back in, it asked me to replace the existing Google Pixel 2 watch on the FitBit account with my current Google Pixel 2 watch... but funny thing is, its the exact same watch, nothing changed.

So anyways, I did what it asked and when I clicked "continue" everything became broken again... the watch is signed out of FitBit, it wont sign back in, I reinstalled the FitBit app, and that hasnt fixed anything.  The watch keeps asking me to sign into FitBit, and FitBit keeps telling me it cant connect with the watch.

its an endless loop of this

Im doing a factory reset right now on the watch, because its not connecting at all to the FitBit account any more.

Well, one factory reset later on the watch, and FitBit still won't export my ECGs.

What do I do at this point? Ive spent something like 4 hours collectively troubleshooting this and the choice of watch doesnt even matter anymore.  FitBit wont export my ECGs regardless of if a watch is paired or not.

How can I get ECGs exported if I need them?  Can i do it via the FitBit website somewhere?

for what its worth, i just tried installing FitBit app on a different device.

I have a new Android tablet sitting around I've never used.  Turned it on, installed FitBit and tried to export an ECG.  Didnt work.

It appears my FitBit account is completely messed up right now, doesn't allow exporting ECG on any device.  Is there an email address or something I can use to submit a bug report?

Hello @fakenameperson

You can submit your feedback/bug report from the Pixel Watch app.

  • Scroll to Tips & Support
  • Tap Send Feedback and follow the instructions

From what I understand, the feedback reports are reviewed by the Pixel Watch team.

I'm going to check with other PEs who might have some advice.

Hi RiekoC,

I can definitely do that as well, but the issue I'm experiencing with the ECG export is with the FitBit App itself, not with the watch..

I even installed Fitbit on a brand new Android tablet and logged in, and still could not export ECGs

I suspect something on the software back end became out of sync as a result of migrating FitBit subscription from a non-gmail email to a personal Gmail email

So, asking again, is there some way I can open a help ticket with FitBit about the FitBit app not exporting ECGs because I don't think this is anything that's going to be solved on my end

I can ask my fellow Pixel Watch peeps.  In the meantime, have you tried contacting Support (you can find the link at the bottom of the page)?
