Fitbit have removed that option. They say:
"To improve your experience with notifications, syncing, and firmware updates, we removed the option to turn off all-day sync from the Fitbit app on Android phones. When your phone is near your Fitbit device with Bluetooth turned on, it periodically syncs with the Fitbit app to update your stats and download available firmware updates. More frequent syncing rarely, if ever, noticeably decreases your device’s battery life"

Did the new version of the app remove the option to disable all day sync? I can't seem to find it anymore.

I dont have the new app yet. But you really dont need all day sync. Because as soon as you open the app your device should start syncing
I have had it turned off seen it came out

I had to set up the app on a new phone and I guess a new version of the app came out last week. I would like to disable all day sync, but the option is no longer there.

@BeckyRu The issue you are describing is an app issue, not a device issue. Do you use an Android or iPhone? Which version of the app do you have? To check your app version, tap on your profile picture > scroll down to Help > tap on Help to see your app version. App versions come out on a progressive roll out. The only way to be sure is to look.
Can you post a screenshot that shows that it is missing? Just to verify, the correct path is tap on your profile picture > Charge 2 > scroll to near the bottom of the page.
If the choice is missing, I want to move your post to the correct forum -- Android or iOS.

@BeckyRu I have been trying to help another user with a different Android syncing problem. That user contacted Fitbit and was told that Fitbit knows that the All-Day Sync disappeared. Fitbit told that user that you sync all day whether you want it to or not.

The new app has broken my ability to sync at all. Even after resetting and even after removing device from phone Bluetooth and then re-installing it there.

Now unable to remove all day sync and it's killing my battery on my tracker

I raised this with Fitbit and the new android ap update has removed the all day sync option. So you now can't turn it off. They confirmed this will also drain your tracker battery quicker. I charged mine 2 days ago and it's nearly dead already and it used to last 4 days. I have to have my Bluetooth on as well most of the day so this is not helpful at all Fitbit.

I was going to ask about this myself. I'm also on a Android phone. It drains the phone battery a tad bit more for me. I never used all day sync before, but on the good side my old Galaxy J3 sync's a lot faster now. No more "looking for device" for 2-3 min. If we get the option back I think I'll leave it on.

Also a problem for me and killing the battery on my phone and Versa. Need to bring this option back immediately. Nor do I like the fitbit just randomly syncing.

Raised a support Chat and the FitBit App developers have removed the all day sync option from the Android App only. Why remains a mystery but I am blaming the Google acquisition of FitBit for this... Apparently if you have an iOS device the option is still there not so with Android. Another way for Google to spy on you... Suggest you uninstall the app and re-install it with minimum security settings... Only other way is to turn bluetooth off... Apps like Eset Mobile security can severely limit what data the App has access to and I suggest using only see my location when using the App...
Get your act together FitBit or you'll lose customers...

The Google acquisition has yet to go through so there are no conspiracies about Google spying on you. Anyway I am on version 3.18 of the app with my Versa 2 and the option to turn off all day sync is still there.

That is disappointing. More control is typically a better option for the user. It was a nice feature to have.
Thanks for the reply.

You removed it from iPhones (IOS devices)
Maldonado. Why did you answer the question with just “Android Phones”. I liked the option of seeing that all day sync was ON. My first Charge 3 clicked it off after seconds every time I turned it on. It also had a difficult time
staying connected to Bluetooth. Because of my first Charge 3 Special Edition being a LEMON, I felt much better when I saw “All Day Sync” turned on & staying on with my
2nd Charge 3. Now, I have no idea.

I launched the fitbit website to view my steps and it didn't show todays data until I manually launched fitbit on my Android phone and it synced with my fitbit. So apparently not syncing in background.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have noticed that sleep time often
shows up as less hours such as
3h 2m when I know I slept more
plus the time it shows I went to sleep
in the wee hours of the morning.
Later in the day, it changes & shows
6h 34m. The times are examples but close to my sleep pattern. My awake time isn’t long enough to divide sleep into two sessions.
All I can figure out is it’s partially
syncing in the morning then finishing
later when I manually sync my steps.
This also happens with my husband’s sleep. Often, his only records the last block of sleep time which is close to waking up. For example: 1h 54m &
went to sleep @ 4AM. He falls asleep
long before then. He doesn’t participate in challenges so he goes 3 days w/o
opening his Fitbit App.
He DOES stay logged in so it should be automatically syncing. It’s not.
It takes 5 minutes or more for his to sync when he finally opens his app. because it has to catch up!😂
I think the “all day sync” was a wonderful option. Mine stayed on all the time when I got my second Charge 3. I knew it was connected & syncing. Now I’m back to a similar situation I had with my first
“lemon Charge 3”. With HeartRate not showing on Dashboard & not seeing
“all day sync”, it’s a guessing game. Is it connected to Bluetooth & is it automatically syncing? How many steps, floors, miles did I REALLY get on a particular day? Firbit messed up this time. I won’t buy another Charge 3 & certainly won’t pay the difference for an overpriced Charge 4. I’ve spent enough on Fitbit Trackers in 2 & 1/2 years to pay for one with several “add-on apps” & accessories.
