All steps lost after phone upgrade

I recently upgraded from a Samsung S4 to a S7. It found my fitbit flex tracker OK, and automatically transferred all the previous apps, but has wiped all the steps (and badges) I had built up since September or so. This is really depressing. Is there any way to get them back?

Hello and welcome to the forums @taphophile2

 

These devices pair and save data based on the email address, which is your Fitbit account. Did you change email addresses and make a different account?

 

Try logging in and see if your steps and badges are there. Since the history is kept on the servers, it doesn't matter how you sync the information to Fitbit. I routinely sync via my desktop and my cell phone.
